Energy Saving Tips!

Drying Jeans: When drying denim jeans, throw in a couple of dry towels – the towel absorbs some of the moisture and keeps the jeans in a good tumble- plus they seem to dry faster!

BATTERIES: To prolong the life of batteries, scrape both ends with sandpaper, a nail file, or an emery board to give them more mileage.

-Vacuum your furnace filter at least once a month!

-When no one is home – leave your AC/Heater running but turn it up as high as you can in the summer and as low as you can in the winter. However, don’t turn it off – it takes more energy to start the unit after it has shut down.

-If you’re going on a trip, turn your hot water heater off so you’re not heating unused water.

-Use your dishwasher verses cleaning a load of dishes by hand. Dishwashers use less hot water and less energy.

-Instead of preheating and then placing food into the oven, place the food in when you start the oven. Then leave it in for 10-15 minutes after you turn the oven off. The meal will continue to cook.
